Festival

The Admiral Nelson Music Festival is the brain child of our landlord Mark Davis.
With a big interest for music, gigs and festivals, we as a family (and after much deliberation!) decided to have a go at hosting our own music festival. Each year the festival itself just keeps getting bigger and bigger and from what started as a few bands performing on the back of a lorry trailer in the pub car park, to where it is now is something we are all so incredibly proud of.

2012 and 2013’s festival saw bands and artists perform on a trailer in the pub car park with approx. 700 people attending the first event and doubling that for the second. With word of mouth traveling fast and more & more interest being shown, we stepped it up a notch and moved into a field for the festival of 2014 – drawing in a huge crowd of over 3000 people! 2014’s festival was held in a field just over the bridge from the pub where bands, artists and DJ’s performed on a stage 11 meters wide, by 9 meters deep and with a roof at its highest point of 7 meters! This and an amazing sound system were supplied by ‘JUICE SOUND AND LIGHTING’ who are an amazing local company with the ability to provide a superb service for all aspects of entertainment.  We were very lucky when they came on board and supported the event.

So what can you expect from The Nelson’s Music Festival…? We try to cater for all different tastes of music ranging from a resident Ibiza DJ to solo artists, local bands and tribute bands. UK No. 1 winner of the National Tribute Awards 2013 – Hats off to Led Zeppelin have now performed at 2 of our festivals. Other sets from Kings OV Leon, Fleetwood Bac and Guns 2 Roses have all received a great response from the crowd. Local bands Got It Covered and Fraudio have both made appearances over the years. We try to make the event a day out for the whole family so you can expect much more than just live music. Face painting, bouncy castles, Morris Dancers, professional photography, human statues, food stalls & outside bars to name a few. Each year we have an amazing firework display to finish the day and not forgetting the chance to camp and really get into the festival spirit – 2014 saw over 130 tents pitch for the event.

2014 was a huge success and we plan on making 2015 an even bigger and better festival by adding a second stage. The event will be held on Saturday 8th August 2015 and to get all the info you need, please follow the below link to our official festival website;
